Easter-Retreat 2012 in the Himalaya - "Becoming-One"
-
- Entrance to Anand Lok
Becoming - One
The Essence of T’ai Chi Ch’uan
April 01 – April 14, 2012.
Anand Lok - Shivaland
Bhairava Nagar, near Rishikesh
Above the river Ganga – At the feet of the Himalaya
Uttarakhand – North India.
The incident of Becoming-One is the ocean in which all practice of T’ai Chi merges.
Satori, Enlightenment, Samadhi or Becoming-One with the TAO –
the same in experience, though different in customs and traditions:
the way and the aim merge.
The practice of T’ai Chi connects Yin and Yang. It integrates opposites.
As an integral training system, the Three Columns of T’ai Chi,
healing gymnastics, inner martial arts and meditation,
are based on this integrating-holistic element.
This connection is the passage of Chi.
The flow of this vital energy is crucial for the quality of life, health and longevity.
In it’s holistic effect, the practice of T’ai Chi is a unique apparatus
to maintain and to support the entire human being.
The incident of Becoming-One is of metaphysical nature, resolving opposites.
They lose the disconnecting, isolating character, Yin and Yang combine.
No longer more they are “the key of all creatures” (Novalis).
In this liaison is the Secret Word, from which „all the false nature“ escapes:
the world can be seen as this, what it is.
Maya, the glaze of illusion, is taken away.
Becoming-One is the result of grave and honest endeavor.
At last it is a mercy and a gift.
You can not train it. Becoming-One is an incident – not a product.
Fortunate energetic conditions can stimulate and foster this incident.
They can generate the energetic atmosphere which is essential,
to allow this mental and spiritual event to brcome reality.
Hardly another area of this planet is so rich in energetic stimulant,
like the valley of the young river Ganga. Wild, untamed, clean and pure,
the divinity of Ganga is the spiritual and energetic magnet,
whose wonderful holiness, is searched by pilgrims since ancient time.
Shiva manifests here in numberless shrines, caves, temples and holy places.
Saddhus, hermits and God-seekers go to this area since thousands of years
to meditate, and to find salvation, enlightenment and liberation.
We practice in Anand Lok, an international spiritual Ashram,
some 20 km upriver from Rishikesh, close to the Ganga.
The energy is sensible here, and stimulates subtle processes superbly.
During this seminar the Short Form of the Yang-style (37 positions)
shall be practiced and intensified.
It is not important how “good” someone is in the sense of practice and ability.
Important is your energetic sensitivity, readiness and courage.
Beginners can receive motivation and deep insights.
Advanced students receive inspiration, encouragement and consolidation.
The spiritual and energetic attractions of the environment
are integrated into the seminar. Shorter and longer guided walks and excursions,
by foot or by Jeep, are leading us to such places.
To the caves, shrines and temples, where we shall meditate and practice.
A 2-day excursion into the mountains of the Himalaya will bring us on 2.500 m,
where the range of the majestic ice-giants reaches over 6.000 m.
Private guidance and reflection, the individual companion on the Way,
receives many times the chance, to look on requests,
questions and thoughts in a meditative dialogue.
Weather in April is summery warm, while from the mountains
refreshing breezes are blowing. We shall often practice and meditate outside.
On the beautiful meadow of Anand Lok with it’s strong Shiva-energy,
or on a rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Ganga,
or in the Yoga-hall, where silence and meditative energy are inviting to connect.
Lectures – Teach-In’s and Satsang, orientated at the processes of the seminar,
in the hall or round the fire at evening time.
A Saddhu, a holy man, shall visit us. He shall explain aspects of our issue and
do special exercises with us, and give Satsang.
Alternate at morning or at evening are times of strict silence.
Seminar-language as required: English/German/Dutch.
Location: Anand Lok – Shivaland, Bhairava Nagar, 22 kms Ahead of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, North India.
Two hours drive away from Deradun, the nearest airport, lies Anand Lok.
It seems that the Jeep which collected you at the airport, stops in the middle of nowhere.
You have to walk down to the Ganga, where the boatman is waiting,
to row you over the Ganga, to the Other Side.
You leave the world behind.
The passage is an adventure. On the Other Side it goes rapidly and steep upward.
There you see already the bungalows of Anand Lok like a prophecy before you.
Behind are mountains, jungle and the clear blue sky.
There are no cars or motor vehicles in Anand Lok.
The Accomondation: bungalow or double-rooms
(choice of single beds or double bed), with living room, shower/toilet and
balcony with splendid view of the Ganga.
There are three single-rooms with shower/toilet and balcony.
All rooms and bungalows have European standard, A/C and fans.
There is also a number of one or two person tents
available (bring your own sleeping bag along).
Anand Lok has it’s own water-supply. The hot water is produced by solar energy.
Anand Lok is surrounded by their own fields and gardens.
Everything is maintained superbly, with care and love.
From Anand Lok are leading nice walks to the Ganga,
to nearby villages and into the jungle.
The Food is vegetarian and free of eggs,
coming from their own agriculture – milk and milk products from their own cows.
Three delicious meals – tea/chai and coffee.
